Kingston Park for a few days' break

We have just had a few days away with our friends, Margaret & Roger, at Kingston Park, a beach suburb of Adelaide.  We were surprised at how many caravaners were at the park, as the school year has  now started, but it is right on the beachfront and the beach isn't just for kids!  Many of the people were from Adelaide and some had been staying at the park for many weeks and did this every year, while others were going to work from the park while they had employment in Adelaide.
We were only able to get away for a few days so it was an ideal getaway and only about 1-1/2 hours drive for us.

Last light - beautiful colours

A bit more colour as the sun sets on Kingston Park beach

It was great to be able to get some photos of the sunset and I was not disappointed.

We woke on Tuesday morning to another wonderful day, perfect weather, so we decided to drive the few kilometres to Hallett Cove and have a look around.

There was a good boardwalk most of the way, quite a few stairs, but a fairly easy walk

.When we got to  Hallett Cove we decided to do the walk to The Sugarloaf.  It should have been a short walk but once on the boardwalk we decided keep going &  do the loop as there was a lot of interesting things to see & good interpretive signs.  Although it was relatively easy because of the boardwalk, there were still quite a few steps up to The Sugarloaf so I was struggling a bit but it was well worth the extra effort
The Sugarloaf & boardwalk

The Sugarloaf reminded me of Rainbbow Valley in the NT

Part of the boardwalk & great views of Hallett Cove beach

The Sugarloaf colours were wonderful

The display boards were very helpful

Clipsal is Coming ...

Clipsal 500 Adelaide's profile photo

We drove into the Adelaide CBD yesterday and noticed the work in progress around Victoria Park in preparation for the Clipsal 500.  It seems they start earlier each year, but then we don't go into the city as much now, and it's amazing how quickly things progress.

The Clipsal 500 racing event starts on 3rd March so there isn't a lot of time to get the track in order.  The circuit is around the streets of Adelaide.

It won't be long now before we hear the roar of the V8's and of course the entertainment too.

There is still a lot of preparation to be done

The stands are going up

A few more photos from our day out at the Sculptures at Brighton.  The sculptures were amazing, so much talent and imagination - very inspiring.
