Hello,:=) The huge variety of birds in Australia, that are so different than the wild birds I see here in Portugal are a feast for the eyes. Those colourful parrots are like gems, but you have some great shots of Australia's wild life which I really enjoyed seeing.
What amazing birds you have!

Happy Australia Day!

Happy Australia Day to you all! The parrots are a great sight. And the white bird, is that a kingfisher? It has been many years ago I saw cattle crossing the road (since I'm a city dweller. Have great traveling days!Emille

Terrific photos, I especially love the kookaburra. It's great to have you back blogging even if I sometimes take a while to visit.
Beautiful photos - especially the beautiful birds. We enjoy bird watching and enjoying seeing birds from other parts of the world. Thank you for sharing. Love the cattle crossing as well. We were in Moab, Utah last summer, where we took a beautiful drive southeast of the town. We came around a corner to find a couple stuck in their car behind a bunch of cattle in the road. We waited and waited and it was apparent they weren't sure what to do. Finally my husband went around them and driving very slowly were able to get the cattle to move to one side. We stopped about a mile down the road at a beautiful pull out. The couple pulled up shortly after us. The woman said thank you for getting the cattle to move along - we didn't know what to do. My husband grew up on a farm and often had to get cattle moving back to the barns. Having been born in an agricultural area, it was not uncommon for us to deal with.

Betty NZ, thanks for reading my blog, I am lucky to live here although we sometimes need to get out and about to appreciate our lovely country.

Cheri, thanks and I also love seeing the cattle on the road when we travel in the outback. The outback cattle and drovers are often seen as they take them to market or just to get more feed. They are usually Brahman and are lovely.

Pauline, the kookaburras are quite a big bird and are very cheeky, they have taken food off our plates if we aren't looking.

Jo-Anne, thanks for reading my blog.

Emilie, the parrots in the photo were on our bird bath one morning. They are lovely and colourful and noisy too, but we enjoyed them, unfortunately we haven't been able to encourage any here in our new place but we are trying to get them to come into our front bird bath.

Deb, we are lucky to have a lot of birds and it is great to photograph them when we travel.

Breathtaking - the birds that we have in our suburban garden are quite different to the ones we see in our travels so I will try and show more later.

Margaret (Peggy) - thanks. Australia Day is a day I have always celebrated but some Australians don't feel the same as I do, but respect for everyone's views is important.
