Day 14
October 2017 - Memories!!
On our first day in Albany we headed off to the Anzac Centre located within the Princess Royal Fortress which overlooks the harbour where 41,000 men and women left Australia for the Great War in November 1914.
We spent a couple of hours walking around both inside and out, and found the displays inside very informative and we were able to find some more history of a family member who died in the Great War. There were some interactive displays and some staff who were able to help us with our questions.
Inside the main building were some really interesting displays including the Anzac Spirit sculpture by Brad Lewis. A Perth businesswoman donated this $40,000 sculpture to the National Anzac Centre in Albany. It is a beautiful sculpture and very moving.

We drove out to The Gap. There were excellent walkways and was easily accessible with a good area for parking. The other attraction here was the Natural Bridge.
