Mosaic Monday A few photos from our trip to Canada in 2007. Ahh the memories!! In 2007 we travelled to Canada to attend my cousin's wedding and spent a few weeks travelling and visiting  some other family members. The Takkakaw Falls were spectacular and so much larger than falls we had seen in Australia, and I can remember the breathtaking view as we rounded the corner and saw the falls for the first time. The Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge in Golden was beautiful.  The bridge spans the Kicking Horse River and is the longest freestanding timber frame bridge in Canada. There were many more amazing places, one of them was the World Heritage Site in Alberta, 18 km from Fort MacLeod, located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and

Please visit Mosaic Monday This week we are home and getting things done around the house and some alterations to the caravan interior. For Mosaic Monday I have gone through my photos and found some lovely old buildings to share. We have travelled to the Flinders Ranges and to Farina and Marree several times a year over the last 20 years and love the beauty of the rugged Flinders Ranges and the isolation of Farina and Marree. There is restoration in Farina of the buildings  and although  it has changed over the years, the volunteers are doing a great job and are also leaving some of the buildings unrestored but have stabilised them so that they remain safe for everyone to enjoy and have many sign boards which tell the story of Farina. Home Sweet Home

After leaving the nice little caravan park at Goolgowie we headed for Hay.  We had a nice sunny day to cross the Hay plain which we have done many times.  We are now only a day away from home. Our next stop was at Balranald where we stopped for lunch at the Ex Servicemans Club.  We enjoyed a very good meal here at a good price.  Balranald is in the Riverina area of New South Wales. Hay is located about half way between Adelaide and Sydney.  We stopped at Hay for a quick break before we headed off across the Hay Plain.  We have travelled this road many times before and although it is a long and flat road we always enjoy the drive. We were looking forward to our overnight stop in Buronga, near Mildura,  on the River Murray .  We arrived there around 3 o'clock and were planning  to sit outside in the sun,  having a drink while enjoying the last night of our holiday.  Well it didn't quite work out as well as we hoped.  The first site we were told to set up on was not even lar
