Wynn Vale Dam, Adelaide

This morning was a very cold and grey morning, so after getting a few essentials at our local shopping centre, I thought it would be good to go out to Wynn Vale Dam and have a walk around. My other reason for going was to collect some different eucalyptus leaves for my new hobby of eco printing which is becoming an addiction, and finding different varieties of leaves for experimenting has seen me wandering the neighbourhood collecting leaves! I am sure the neighbours are wondering what I am doing, thank goodness most of them are not out and about in this cold weather.

The Wynn Vale Dam was originally constructed by S Wynn and Company in 1962 so as to irrigate their vines as part of the Modbury Estate.

Musk Lorikeets
Musk Lorikeets are endemic to (only found in) south-eastern Australia, being widespread in eastern New South Wales, all regions of Victoria and in the south-east of South Australia.
Completed in June 2014, the 2.5 metre wide pathway meanders along the beautiful Dry Creek corridor from Wynn Vale Dam through to Vaucluse Reserve in Valley View. With four playgrounds and plenty of seating along the route, you can even choose to take a well-earned break
The Dry Creek Trails are a network of walking and cycling trails that traverses 14km from the hilly escarpments to the sea, passing through remnant areas of eucalyptus woodlands and grasslands. The trail explores the river and its reserves: from the end of the 16.5km Little Para River Trail near Barker Inlet
