Pictorial Tuesday

Welcome to the Link Up for Tuesday.  I hope you enjoy a few of my pictures from our trip in 2017.

Sibelius Monument in Helsinki, Finland

On our trip in 2017 we enjoyed our visit to Helsinki and this monument to Sibelius was amazing.  It consists of more than 600 hollow steel pipes welded together in a wave-like pattern, weighs 24 tonnes.

So enjoyed my site seeing tour through your photos. Castles are amazing, and the tube sculpture is so different.

Wonderful to see, that sculpture sure is something different.
Thank you for sharing photos of something I will probably not see for myself. I love that sculpture.

I love Helsinki (and all of Finland). I'd go back in a flash (travel bans permitting). I missed that sculpture tho....I went to the fort and got lost (all the exits were blocked) and walked in on a training group with all these machine guns!! Fortunately they were as shocked as I was! I ran away in fear...hehehe

Peabea, thanks for your comments. I love travelling to other countries and seeing their art too.

Margaret, that sculpture was amazing and we were lucky that the weather was good too.

EC, glad you enjoyed my photos and unfortunately we will not be travelling overseas again due to the restrictions and our age and health, but it is good to reminisce.

Lydia, we loved Helsinki too, but not enough time there, but that is always a problem. You were lucky to get out of the training area there, not on the tourist destination! We also have got lost on many occasions when travelling but only encountered machine guns a few times when the police were in the subways, a bit frightening when our police here don't carry fire arms.
That was a wonderful trip for you back then with all the wonderful sights. Thanks for showing!
I have to agree with another comment - thank you for sharing things I will probably never see. It's great to have a tour guide even though it isn't in person. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for allowing me to armchair travel with you. That cathedral is so impressive I went to read about it with Mr Google. How fortunate you are to have visited such amazing places with such fascinating history.

Pauline, that trip was a bit of overload with so many wonderful cathedrals and palaces to see but its good to have photos to enjoy at a more leisurely pace!
