We have just spent a long weekend in Lake Bonney, Barmera. For those of you who aren't familiar with this beautiful part of South Australia, Lake Bonney is a freshwater lake which is fed from the Murray River and the town on Barmera is located on the shore of the lake.
We stayed in our caravan in the caravan park with a group of friends who all had camper trailers, 10 adults and 5 children, so it was a busy weekend but a lot of fun too.

We had our meals together, mostly, but of course with children things don't always go to plan, but the men cooked our roast meats for our Sunday night roast, which was great.

Barmera is the jewel of the Riverland. The geographical centre of this amazing place is the sparkling fresh water lake which is safe for families, making Barmera the ideal location for your holiday experience.

We spent an hour or so at the Main Street Market on Sunday morning. The workmanship on these lovely wooden pots and tables was amazing.

We drove out to Renmark, about 40 km, to visit the Woolshed Brewery at Wilcadene Station. We have gone there on our previous stay at Lake Bonney as they have a great range of drinks and also provide live music and its a great afternoon on the banks of the River Murray. On the drive to Renmark we passed a lot of fruit trees and the orange blossoms were beautiful.
