We decided to hit the road again as Winter has been long and cold and seems longer and colder as we get older! So we have packed up the van and headed off and hope to find the Spring weather along the River Murray.
We left Mannum on Monday morning, nice & sunny and had a lovely drive with many of the wattle trees in flower. Our first overnight stop was at the Renmark Riverbend Caravan Park where we didn't unhook the van as we are trying to minimise the problems Ron has with his back so he doesn't have to do the heavy work. It was a good overnight stop and we even saw some kangaroos, a bit too far away for a good photo, but lovely to see all the same.
Next morning we drove around the town as it has been a while since we were last there, and we noticed a few changes, but it is a great River town and we used to come every year at Christmas for a few weeks, as we had a speed boat and the kids loved to waterski, and we did too. It was always really busy on the river and we usually had friends visit so we have good memories of Renmark. |

Our next overnight stop was at Buronga just over the border in New South Wales. Mildura is on the other side of the River Murray, but we stayed in the caravan park at Buronga. |

Billy, our mascot camel who travels with us.
Billy was the only camel left on the shelf at Mundrabilla Roadhouse on our trip across the Nullabor when we visited a few years ago, so I felt I needed to purchase him and give him a more interesting life, and he has travelled with us ever since but he still doesn't look real happy, perhaps he needs a mate!
