Another cool and cloudy day in Albany, and after a quick drive into the town to get some of our medications and to get some fuel, we drove out to The Gap, at Torndirrup National Park.

The Gap, a natural rock formation |
We walked around this magnificent area which had good walkways which made it easier for me.
The weather was a bit too calm for the blowhole to be at its best, but the scenery and the views were wonderful and I do love to just watch the waves.
We left the Torndirrup National Park and drove further along the coast to the Whaling Station at Frenchman's Bay. We didn't go into the Museum but we had lunch at the Cafe as we both needed a rest after walking around.
As we were there in 2017 I understand that The Whaling Station & Museum is now a State Heritage listed site.
Day 16
The weather is warmer today so I will do the washing before breakfast and it should dry quickly in the wind. The weather forecase for tomorrow says it will be stormy so we will have to decide if we leave Albany or stay a bit longer. If we stay we will probably just sit around the caravan if the weather is bad so think we might move on but will wait and see tomorrow.
Afer doing the washing and having breakfast we drove into Albany and had a look around a few shops and also the Entertainment Centre. I also bought a pair of pants with pockets as I always need pockets for tissues, keys etc.
Albany Entertainment Centre |
The Entertainment Centre was a very modern building on the foreshore and was completed n 2010. We had a good look around it and were veery impressed with all the facilities there.

Back at the caravan park, and I brought the clothes in and folded them and put them away. There is no room in a van to be untidy and everything has its place.
We then drove out to Middleton Beach and Emu Point but there were roadworks preventing us from getting close so here are some photos taken from the car.
We decided to stay another day here in Albany as I needed to replace my watch battery and we thought a visit to the local Markets would be good to get some nice fresh homegrown produce.
We were disappointed at the local market as there wasn't much fresh produce that we wanted but we did get a few little presents for the grandchildren.
We had a short drive around and took some more flower photos .... but as I stepped out of the car I slipped down the embankment and twisted my knee! Back at the van we strapped it up and I took an anti-inflammatory, had a rest, so hope by tomorrow I should be good to go.
Until tomorrow...
