Travelling to Eden

Eden is the most southerly coastal town in New South Wales.

In March 2016 we did a great road trip in our caravan and I will post some of my diary entries and photos here and hope you enjoy going back a few years.  It really doesn't seem that long ago but time goes so fast these days.

Nullice River, Eden

Our caravan site
The caravan park was quite spacious and not crowded like some parks are, and we had our site on the far side of the park with a forest of trees nearby and we could hear the Bellbirds making their lovely ringing sound but I couldn't manage to get a photo of them as they were fairly well hidden but it was a beautiful sound.

Cruise Ship Pacific Eden in Eden

According to my diary, we took 3 days to get to Eden from Adelaide and about 1,300 km.  The weather was quite warm but overcast and I remember it was quite foggy too so some photos weren't very clear.
We don't like to sit around too much and most days we did day trips from the caravan park to the many small towns and attractions in the area.

12/3/2016 Diary - we drove to Green Cape Lighthouse and Disaster Bay.

13/3/2016 Diary - Rain overnight. Drove out to Pambula, 15 km north of Eden.

A nice walk on Pambula beach

14/3/2016 Diary - Did some laundry as we have been away for almost a week, then headed of to Bombala, another pretty little town just over an hour's drive north west from Eden.

Historic Bombala Railway Station

Bombala is known for the elusive platypus and of course we weren't able to see one while in Bombala.  I was really disappointed as I haven't seen one in the wild but hopefully we will one day.  From Bombala we drove on to Delegate, another small town and had a look around there before heading back to Eden.

15/3/2016 - Diary. Rain overnight, temperature around 23C. Stayed around the caravan park and had lunch at a restaurant in Eden.

17/3/2016 Diary.  No rain overnight so headed off to Tilba Tilba, about 120km from Eden.  Lovely drive through semi tropical forest with large ferns and tall trees.  Stopped on the way in Bega and the Cheese Factory.

The cheese factory was really interesting and they had so many varieties of cheese on sale, different from what we usually get in the supermarkets here.

Tilba Tilba

Tilba Tilba is a lovely little town with a lot of small artisan shops, so we had a good look around as the quality of work was amazing and we had a chat to some of the artists.

Narooma

We then drove on to Narooma, Bermagui and Cobargo then back to Eden.

Narooma and Bermagui were beautiful coastal towns and we sat in the sun looking at the waves while we ate our fish and chip lunch.

When I see pictures of my grandsons I realize how fast time has flown lately--lol!
Beautiful area. That cheese factory would have drawn me in, too. :)

I love the south coast of NSW but Eden is a long way down that coast so have only been there once or twice. Tilba Tilba is a very enjoyable place to go.

I am really enjoying visiting familiar spots with you.
