Travelling Around The Snowy Mountains

We travelled to Cooma, known as the capital of the Snowy Mountains, and enjoyed a lovely drive from Eden on the coast to the beautiful Monaro region and the Snowy Mountains.

Yellow tailed black cockatoo

These cockatoos were in the trees behind our caravan in Cooma and were having a feast on the pine cones, making a lot of mess and a lot of noise, but amazing to see them, and they are a very large bird.

After settling in to the Cooma caravan park, the next day  we drove to Charlotte's Pass, Australia's oldest and highest ski resort.  As we were there in March there was no snow so we had a lovely walk around and took in the beautiful scenery.

We drove back through Jindabyne, another alpine town on Lake Jindabyne.

The next day we drove to Nimmmintabel which is another small town which we had passed through the day before on our way to Cooma, but we wanted to have another look around.

The Indian elephant is a beautiful feature of the main street in front of a restaurant.

I love the Snowies in the summer time (only). I especially like the caravan park at Tumut.
