O is for ORROROO

 ORROROO, South Australia

Orroroo is a town in the mid north of South Australia, approximately 270 km north of Adelaide.

When driving into Orroroo these metal sculptures are a prominent feature of the main street.

Life sized metal sculpture of horses pulling a plough

There are some lovely old shops in the main street which look original and are a lovely feature of this old town.

We have stopped in Orroroo a few times on our trips north and have found a great camp site a few kms out of the town.  It is not usually crowded and often there are only a couple of caravans staying overnight.

On one of our trips we were unlucky to run into a thunderstorm but were lucky to see this fabulous rainbow.
Every cloud has a rainbow lining

Now that is a rainbow! Love the statue with the horses.
Looks like a nice park, too. :)

This is a new town to me. I love old towns like this and the way they put in a real effort with the public artwork.
