Berri derives its name from the local aboriginal meaning "A wide bend in the river" and is a small town in the Riverland of South Australia, on the River Murray.

B is also for Banksia, a native plant which grows in the area |
Last year we had a week in Berri with a group of friends and had a fantastic time, and found a few new places to visit.

Berri is a nice drive from Adelaide and is about 240 km so we easily got there before lunch. It was good to get there without a long drive so that we could get our caravan set up and still have time to enjoy the rest of the day with our friends.
Initially I thought you were taking me to Berry in NSW, which is also a lovely town, but this river town might be even nicer.
