Sunday Selections

Linking up with Elephant's Child for Sunday Selections

My theme is Rock formations and Beaches with photos taken on our trip to the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia.

The cave area was spectacular and I particularly enjoy watching the waves crashing onto the rocks and trying to capture them in my photos.

Some people were more adventurous than me (and probably younger!)

Point Lowly Lighthouse

Manned for 90 years, the Point Lowly beacon became automated and was eventually delisted from the Australian Maritime Safety Authority register. Since 1995, the lighthouse has been owned by the City of Whyalla.

Completed in 1883, the lighthouse eased the way for maritime traffic around Point Lowly. The original 15 metres tall tower was extended by eight metres in 1909
