The weather here this year is very cold and as we get older we are not liking the cold. For the past few years we have travelled north to get some sun, but of course this year is different.
Our World Tuesday Graphic
I have gone with photos from around my garden this week as we have not been out much. I have gone through my photos and found some from the last few years.

Magpies come down to see us most mornings, we usually have the same family each year but this year we have had many more, up to 20 one morning!

These photos were taken in summer.

We get quite a few parrots come in for a drink, but not always as many as this, but it was a very hot day so they were thirsty.

Loving your garden and the birds - some of which we see, and some we don't.
I adore the magpie warble - it sings of home to me.
Thanks for joining in Sunday Selections again.

Nice garden, pretty flowers and wonderful coloured parrots.
We are not feeling the cold too badly, we didn't know how we would fare on that as we too go away each winter to the north, past 20 years just missing a few winters. May never happen that we go again due to several things.
Take care.

You have a beautiful collection of birds and flowers. I wonder who looks after your garden when you are travelling.

Thanks EC, we love the birds too. Enjoy your week.

Margaret, this is the first winter we have been home for a few years and might be the way of life now. I guess we will just have to get used to it.

Thanks Rita, we love having a nice view from the dining room, and the little bit of sun we get in winter comes through that window. The garden is not the best at this time of year. Have a good week and take care.

Diane, thanks for your comments. We don't travel in our summer, only in winter and spring and we have to get someone in to keep an eye on it, but it's a fairly low maintenance garden with a watering system. We also have good neighbours too,

This photo series shows once again that the subject on the photo is the reason that it is spoken or written about. Beautiful examples of what you can find in a tropical garden. Well done.

Lovely bird shots and a beautiful garden too. I don't think I have seen rosellas that colour.

Like you we are feeling the cold more as we get older, I have noticed that we have snuck the heating up 1 degree over last year. Right now we are on a short winter trip. I find getting someplace just a few degrees warmer and with different scenery is enough to break the cycle of feeling "cold" so even though we have ventured only 250kms from home we are very happy.

Your flowers are pretty and your birds — spectacular! All that color sure brightens up the world.

Love your bird photos, Rosie. We have lots of birds visit us here and I love watching them and listening to them. Recently, we had a young Butcher Bird fly inside and it was quite an effort getting it back out again without stressing it. At one stage, it was perched on my kitchen bench! Meg:)
