Day 11 in Esperance
On closer inspection Ron discovered that it was the Thermo system which was installed under the bed so we had to take out all the storage crates and the other odds and ends that find their way under the bed. Once this was done he was able to fix the water leak and we were lucky that the water had not caused any damage as we got to it quickly. It took longer to put
everything back.
We set off for the markets which were held in the Museum Precinct and then we drove around Esperance and took some photos.
I enjoyed walking around the markets and bought a few things to take back home and for gifts for the family. From memory I think Ron found somewhere to sit while I wandered around as he's not keen on just looking without a purpose!
We then drove around some more places in Esperance and had a walk around the foreshore area.

This unusual roundabout in the centre of Esperance was really lovely and as there was not much traffic when we were there we were able to walk around it and have a close up look.
After a relaxing afternoon and a bbq tea, we headed out to Wheatfield Lake for a sunset drive. We got some lovely sunset shots across the lake. After we had a few good photos and a short walk, we headed back to the car and while I was admiring the view, something moved very close to my feet and this is what I saw.
After the surprise snake visit, I did manage to recover and enjoy a beautiful sunset.
Certainly a beautiful sunset captured perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThe whale is great as is the round a bout - lovely photos.
Thanks.
Lucky with the water, could have been a disaster.
Glad that the leak could be fixed relatively easily.
ReplyDeleteEek on the snake front. That looked to be fairly large.
And what a spectacular sunset.
EC- I almost walked on the snake as it was just relaxing on the ground and only moved when I got too close. I am amazed that I didn't panic or scream, but walked away and mentioned it to my husband. I think he was more worried for me than I was!
DeleteI don't know that breed of snake at all. Did you find out what breed it was?
ReplyDeleteAndrew - we weren't really sure but think it might have been a red belly black snake, although only one photo showed a slight tinge of red, but maybe the red only shows as certain times. I don't know much about snakes except to keep away from them when possible.
DeleteSnakes scare me silly, think running around squealing like a girl and waving my arms about, yeah like that
ReplyDeleteJo=Anne, I thought that would be me too, but I just stood looking at it for a few seconds then slowly walked away. It was later that I thought about how much worse things could have been.
DeleteGreat snake pictures ... I’m not all “girly” about reptiles, (mom and grandma of a few boys))), but find it hard to get good pictures of them ... hard to focus while still keeping distance. .... I’m loving your trip and the water leak you discovered really reminded me of us! We’ve started a few days with similar “adventures” ... and aren’t we lucky our husbands can do a lot of those fixes themselves.
