Streaky Bay town from the jetty |
As we are still in self isolation, there are not many more photos around the house and garden that I can post here, so I will continue with our photos from previous trips away.
Our next stop on our trip to Western Australia in 2017 was Streaky Bay, 727 km from Adelaide. We booked into the caravan park for 2 nights so that we could have a bit of time to see this lovely little beachside town and have a break from driving. We love travelling but do need a few days break from driving now and again. The caravan park is right on the foreshore and was so beautiful to sit outside under our awning and be right on the beach.

Looking back to the town from the jetty |
On our walk along the foreshore we came across the Carol J. which had been wrecked in a storm in 1958.
Back at the caravan it was time for a drink or two, and we enjoyed sitting under the trees watching the ocean.

Not much happening here! |

Very relaxing time at Streaky Bay |
It looks lovely - and I always like to see pelicans.
ReplyDeleteEC - Streaky Bay is a great town and we had stayed there on another trip to the West so we knew the caravan park was perfect for a stopover. The pelicans got a bit boisterous when the fishermen came in and cleaned their fish at the cleaning shelter nearby.
DeleteGood to see your photos of Streaky Bay. We also stayed at the park on the beach.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Margaret - Streaky Bay caravan park is one of our favourites on the way to WA. Take care.
DeletePelicans are always nice to see. Streaky Bay looks like a wonderful place to visit and explore.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day!
What a nice looking place
ReplyDeleteThanks for the virtual trip to Streaky Bay. A distraction like that is very welcome!
ReplyDeleteI think we may have a Streaky Bay here in Victoria. This Streaky Bay does look nice. Boats can look quite nice but in the case of the Carol J, it really is an ugly duckling.
ReplyDeleteAndrew- I agree with you on the Carol J. I suspect it was there more for historical value than beauty.
ReplyDeleteThat Oceanside picnic table under the tree is calling me! Beautiful place to vacation... gosh I hope I get to visit our part of the Pacific Coast while we’re home in Oregon. ... ocean wrecks are sad, but the boat is picturesque and a good reminder of the dangers faced by those who go to sea.
