Mosaic Monday

For Mosaic Monday I am showing some of my favourite photos as we travelled around Queensland and New South Wales last year.  If you are following my blog you would have seen many of the places we have been to in this huge country.

  My Country by Dorothea Mackellar

                                                          I love a sunburnt country,

                                                          A land of sweeping plains,

                                                          Of ragged mountain ranges,
                                                          Of droughts and flooding rains.
                                                          I love her far horizons,
                                                          I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror -

The wide brown land for me.

Beautiful trees

Bourke, New South Wales

Core of My heart, my country

Her pitiless blue sky,

When sick at heart, around us,

We see the cattle die -

But then the grey clouds gather,

And we can bless again

The drumming of an army,

The steady, soaking rain.

Roads across Australia

An opal-hearted country,A wilful, lavish land -
All you who have not loved her,
You will not understand -
Though earth holds many splendours,
Wherever I may die,
I know to what brown country
My homing thoughts will fly.

  2. EC, yes we are lucky to live here, even in these difficult times. I really love the different parts of this country, the beaches, the desert, the mountains, all beautiful. We have a lot to be grateful for. Take care and stay safe.
