The day was dedicated to a hill climb which was held many years ago and one of the sporting car clubs was hosting the day with displays of cars and photos of the event going back to 1948.
Another reason to visit was the food and wine which was also enjoyable and the weather was perfect for it too.
Glen Ewin Estate
Glen Ewin Estate was established in 1843. It was known for its large quantity of jams made under direction of horticulturalist George McEwin. The Wauchope family bought the property in 1991 and have since built the heritage listed property up to be the beautiful Wedding venue and tourist destination it is today.
We love this property and return here when they have special events and also because our daughter's wedding was here so it holds very special memories for us. They also serve great food and wine too.
The Glen Ewin Hill Climb - history
Today we enjoyed looking at many cars that were displayed in the beautiful grounds at Glen Ewin.

Sign me up for the food and wine, the old cars not so much! Happy Australia Day!
ReplyDeleteIt looks, and sounds, like a wonderful place.
ReplyDeleteYes EC, it is a lovely old home and garden, and the old cars were great too.
DeleteLooks like a great way to spend Australia Day! Have a great week and thanks for visiting my blog this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jill, we did have a good Australia Day. We usually have friends over to celebrate but had a change of plan and went out instead, even better as no work for me!
