April 2019
It is 10 years since we did our first caravan trip around the western half of Australia. We travelled from Adelaide up the centre of Australia and down the west coast. We took approximately 3 months and travelled 16,000 km. We loved every minute of the trip and were planning the next before we even had returned home. I retired in 2013 and Ron retired in 2012 and our next long trip was in 2013 where we drove from Adelaide up the centre and to the east. This was another exciting adventure and because we had retired we had no return date to work with, but again we were only away for about 3 months as our house insurance would have required us to have someone living in our house if we were away any longer. To be honest, I think 3 months is long enough for me to be away from family as we have 5 grandchildren and we really miss them when we are away.

We arrived at the Rest Area on day 9 of our trip.

I can recommend retirement, it's given us a chance to travel in Australia as it is such a big country.
DeleteBeautiful scenery! I love it! It reminds me of my own neck of the woods. My post is on the Valley of Fire. A lot of red, interesting rock formations. But I live in Nevada, USA.
ReplyDeleteIt is similar to your Valley of Fire which I have just read. Thanks for your comments and I will follow you on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Being housebound I am thrilled to do some traveling with you and am your newest subscriber. I love the Devil's marbles. Looks like a great camper. Thanks so much for visiting my little blog. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for following me. We do enjoy our caravanning holidays and are lucky to have such a great country as our back yard to travel around.
Deletebeautiful series of photos...thank you for sharing
ReplyDeleteThat is a great outfit for travelling. I always think it looks like great fun but we tried it a few times but found it too much work, you guessed it we're lazy. We have often done road trips and stopped in cabins in holiday parks. Your photos are great and show the red of the inland.
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane for your comments. Caravanning is not for everyone but we love it and have upgraded our van a few times so now things are much more civilised! Thanks for your comments.
Delete...you are surrounded by so much beauty, I wish that your lovely land wasn't so far away. I will need to enjoy it through your images. Thanks and enjoy your week.
