Moruya Holiday - Day 8-13

We left our overnight stop at Gundaroo and had a look around the old town which has a lot of lovely old buildings.  We drove down a very steep mountain, Clyde Mountain, lots of traffic going the other way as it was a public holiday in ACT.  We were pleased to get down the mountain, quite a few areas to pull in to let traffic pass which was good.  We arrived in Batemans Bay hoping to get some lunch but it was so busy and nowhere for vans to stop  so we continued on to Moruya and the traffic had thinned out a lot.  Moruya is only a small town on the river and our caravan park was on the north side of the river and the main shopping area is on the south, only about 500 metres. The caravan park is really well set out with the river on one side and paddocks on the other sides.  We are on the edge of both the river and the paddocks.

Day 9 - Moruya
After a week of travelling I had a lot of washing so first thing I headed to the laundry and put the washing on and filled 2 machines.  We didn't drive anywhere today, just sat around and enjoyed being in one place.  So far we have done  about 1700  km.

Day 10
We drove back out to Batemans Bay and stopped along the way at the lovely little town of Mogo.  The town had a lot of arty places and a bit hippy too, but I did find an art shop so was able to get some paper.

In Batemans Bay we found a nice restaurant to have lunch at the marina.

South Durras

Our next stop was South Durras, where Kirsten stayed at Christmas, so we had a walk around the beach and rocks, then on to Maloney's Beach, saw some kangaroos but not on the beach like they were the last time we were here.  Our next stop was Malua Beach, Tomakin Beach and then back to Moruya.

Day 11
Overcast morning but warm.  Stayed around the caravan most of the day, a bit of shopping for essentials.  There is a Woolworths and IGA so plenty of choices, also a couple of bakeries and quite a few coffee shops and takeaways so we will try some of them out.

Day 12
Another lovely day here near the coast so we headed south to Narooma.  We stopped at the little town of Bodalla and the Cheese Factory.  Also had a look at the little shops and then stopped at Dalmeny for some lovely views of the coastline.  Arrived at Narooma and had a drive around to some of the places we saw on our trip here 2 years ago.  We drove back through Tuross Heads and then back home to the van.
