Feathered Friends

Welcome to Around the Place, this time around I am showing you some photos of birds I have photographed here at home in the suburbs of Adelaide and also some taken on holidays in other parts of Australia.  Although I am not a "photographer" I enjoy photography and the challenge of finding the various birds on our travels.  I have tried to identify the birds in these photos but I may have got some of them wrong, so if you know their correct identity I would be happy for you to let me know.

There is a family of magpies that come in almost every morning, sometimes they even sit on the verandah and warble until we come out and feed them.  Its such a lovely "wake up" call and we enjoy watching them squabble over the food and have learnt a lot about their "pecking  order".  They are beautiful birds.

The Noisy Minors love our garden and when the magpies come down for a treat the Noisy Minors are never far away and after a while they start flying in and try to scare off the magpies, usually with no success.  The magpies leave when they are ready and not before.

These galahs are found in most areas of Australia and we have lots of them in Adelaide.
