We had planned a longer road trip but a few days after leaving we had a phone call from Ron's Medical Specialist to make the appointment earlier so we planned to cut the trip short, but then a few more days later we again had another call to say the Specialist had been called away overseas for a family emergency. At this stage we were already heading towards home so it was too late to go further without retracing our steps so we have only been away just over a week but we have seen many places that were on our list to look at so all is good and now we will now be back in time for Mother's Day as it is good to be with the family for these special days.
The photos are a bit out of order and I am too tired to sort through them as today I have done too much walking, but hope you still enjoy the photos of our beautiful rural Australia.
The photo below is of the Coleraine Railway Station in rural Victoria. I have a fascination with railways and trains, not a fanatic, but do enjoy visiting the stations as some of them are very well preserved.

The station has lovely gardens and a pond |
We had a couple of nights at Lake Burrumbeet and the sunsets were amazing. You might have noticed that I also enjoy sunsets so usually take quite a few.

We stopped to view a couple of waterfalls that we had seen many years ago on one of our trips into Victoria, but as there hasn't been a lot of rain the falls weren't as spectacular but still nice to see. The first photo is Nigretta Falls and the next is Wannan Falls where I managed to get a good shot of a magpie looking very majestic.

I do love the Australian countryside, with the cattle grazing in the paddocks.
Below is a photosof a very attractive old building in Hamilton which I managed to snap as we were driving past.

And another old building with the rusty iron roof |
Well, that's it for now and I hope you enjoyed this part of our trip.
Love the buildings--from the train station to the old barn. Too bad you had to cut the trip short. I hope the hubby is okay. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the Aussie countryside. Magpie shot is a beauty. The falls show it has been dry there.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photographs! The sunsets are spectacular.
