I am a beginner in the world of artists but as the experts say, if you keep painting you will succeed, so that is what I intend to do!  I hope you can give me some inspiration and encouragement by posting some comments. Flinders Ranges

6th September 2016 Day 1 We left around 9.30 am and headed off on our trip to the Flinders Ranges.  We had made a booking at Flinders Bush Retreat, Willow Waters which is about 10 km from Hawker and is on Willow Waters Station.  The weather was cool but the sun was out most of the day and we enjoyed the drive and the countryside was so lush and green, quite different from the last time  a couple of years ago.  Our first stop was at Burra where we had a stroll around this lovely little town and had a good cup of coffee at one of the cafes before driving on for our lunch stop at Mt Bryan.  There is a good spot near the old railway station with plenty of room for caravans and tables to sit at as well as very clean toilets.     Welcome to Around the Place, this time around I am showing you some photos of birds I have photographed here at home in the suburbs of Adelaide and also some taken on holidays in other parts of Australia.  Although I am not a "photographer" I enjoy photography and the challenge of finding the various birds on our travels.  I have tried to identify the birds in these photos but I may have got some of them wrong, so if you know their correct identity I would be happy for you to let me know. There is a family of magpies that come in almost every morning, sometimes they even sit on the verandah and warble until we come out and feed them.  Its such a lovely "wake up" call and we enjoy watching them squabble over the food and have learnt a lot about their "pecking  order".  They are beautiful birds.   A collage of Mannum & Murray Bridge   Here are some photos taken on our visit to Mannum.  Our son and his family live on 30 acres near Mannum so we visit often and I always enjoy the drive through the Adelaide hills.  Take a break and enjoy!   Millbrook Reservoir - taken from the car as there are not many places to stop for photos Another photo from the car of Millbrook Reservoir Grapevines near the reservoir The rolling hills in the early morning
